It is that time of the year again, when suitcases are packed, goodbyes become real, and some of the people we call family leave Lebanon carrying much less than what they are leaving behind.

There is a particular sadness to this time of year.

Friends leave. Family leaves. And in the 208, people we have spent countless days and nights with eventually have to leave too heading to new horizons, new countries. Sometimes for a new opportunity, sometimes because life simply gave them no other choice.

The suitcase can carry clothes and a few personal things. But the uniform stays behind.

And that is probably the hardest part.

Because it was never just a uniform. It carries long nights at the center, the sound of the radio, difficult missions, stupid jokes at 3 AM, arguments, exhaustion, friendships, people we helped, and moments that only those who were there will ever fully understand.

You cannot pack all of that into a suitcase.

So maybe you take something smaller instead. A little puppet wearing the same red uniform. Small enough to travel anywhere, but somehow carrying years of memories with it.

The uniform stays home.

But a part of those days, those people, and that family leaves with you.

And wherever life takes you, 208 will always sound a little like home.
